Pilot Line
The pilot line includes cleanroom equipment designed to develop reliable micro-transfer printing and essential post-printing processes such as metallization and passivation. While the micro-transfer printer supports printing on 300 mm wafers, the post-processing equipment is designed for wafers up to 200 mm in size. Additionally, the facility is equipped with tools to test transfer-printed wafers and perform reliability assessments, including burn-in testing. Our Offering
Our offering provides a pathway for MTP adoption, from process development and optimization to technology transfers and non-commercial prototyping. This capability is underpinned by an R&D license for MTP technology from X-Celeprint, enabling access to foundational IP for R&D. The TRANSVERSE pilot line serves as a key enabler, bridging the gap between research and industry for heterogeneous integration for diverse applications.
With our expertise, companies can accelerate product innovation while reducing development costs and time-to-market. Our toolset supports micro-transfer printing, post-processing, testing and inspection for 200 mm. The current focus is on LN and IIIV integration for deployment across a wide range of applications such as telecommunications, quantum computing, healthcare, automotive, aerospace, …
By partnering with us, you gain access to cutting-edge technology and industry-leading expertise.

Development-on-Demand
With our expertise in micro-transfer printing–based processes, our development-on-demand approach enables close collaboration with partners—whether source providers, target providers, or end-users. This collaborative model allows us to deliver tailored solutions for both process and device development.

Imec Platform augmentation
The Transverse pilot line is developing the augmentation of imec’s silicon photonics platforms by integrating IIIV SOAs and laser and LNO modulators using micro-transfer printing. Hereby expanding imec’s photonics pdk and capabilities.

Prototyping
Rapid prototyping enables to quickly test, refine and optimize designs and process flows. Our non-commercial prototyping capabilities are supported by an R&D license from X-Celeprint for micro-transfer printing.
